The TV channel known as Media One is an Islamist channel with close ties to Jamaat e Islami.
As the swearing in of Narendra Modi as PM draws near, they have launched a campaign to discredit the election process of the country by alleging that the voting machines and electoral rolls were tampered with. They have used fake data from some online news portal called News Click who used projections instead of actual data in order to cook up discrepancies. This could very well be an attempt to destroy faith in the country's democratic process in order to demoralise and radicalise the Muslims in the state.
This campaign is not limited to this channel. Dr Fasal Gafoor of MES who has a large online following has been constantly attacking the electoral process online.
Along with a disturbing picture showing India committing suicide, he says that more BJP workers like Smriti Irani's aide will continue to be killed off to suppress the secret of voting machine tampering from coming out.
Many Muslim youth on online forums have been expressing fears of tampered voting machines throughout the last few months, fuelled by Congress and AAP campaigns against voting machines. Now such news reports after the elections seem to be targeted at pushing these youth further towards radicalism.
